Glenrothes Swimming Club is committed to provide a safe and secure sporting environment for all swimmers/club members. Regulated Roles
The roles listed below are regulated roles within a sports club. If a Volunteer in the club is doing a regulated role(s) they will be required to complete a Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) check and attend the Child Well-being and Protection in Sport workshop.

- Poolside Helper/Assistant
- President/Chair
- Swimming Teacher
- Swimming – Referee, Marshall (when not incidental)

- Wellbeing and Protection Officer
- Tutor
- Water Polo – Referee
Child Well-being and Protection in Sport workshop
The above course is a compulsory requirement for all volunteers in regulated role(s) within swimming clubs. Anyone who has not completed or needs to renew (every 3 years) their Child Well-being and Protection in Sport certification can do so by registering via the Scottish Swimming website. The workshop is free of charge to Scottish Swimming members in regulated roles.
Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Checks
Anyone in regulated role(s) within the swimming club, must completed a Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) check. Each person aged 16 or over must completes their PVG check prior to volunteering/starting a regulated role within the club. The PVG check needs to be renewed every five years. The Child Well-being and Protection Officer completes the administration for PVG checks within the club.
Child Well-being and Protection Policies & Procedures
Swimmers and volunteers of the Glenrothes ASC are asked to sign and comply with the relevant Code of Conduct. Members are asked to follow the clubs policy and procedures which are the same as Scottish Swimming. The link below will take you to the relevant page on the Scottish Swimming website.
